India to Host Inaugural World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit in Goa to Accelerate Global Media and Entertainment Expansion

The Summit is designed as a high-level international platform bringing together leading figures from the global media and entertainment fraternity, with a strategic focus on entertainment economics and emerging technologies shaping the future of the industry.

As part of the preparations, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Ashwini Vaishnaw will launch 25 Challenges under the “Create in India Challenge – Season 1” on August 22. These initiatives are intended to stimulate innovation, creativity, and participation across diverse segments of the entertainment ecosystem.

According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, the challenges span a wide range of disciplines, including animation, filmmaking, gaming, comics, music, and emerging technologies. The programme has been structured to encourage participants to explore new opportunities, demonstrate creative talent, and contribute to India’s evolving presence in the global media and entertainment landscape.

The Ministry further stated that WAVES is designed to be inclusive, inviting participation from both seasoned industry professionals and enthusiastic newcomers. The initiative seeks to provide a dynamic platform where creativity intersects with opportunity, enabling contributors to shape the future direction of the entertainment sector.

By bringing together innovation-driven challenges and a global summit platform, WAVES is positioned as a significant step toward strengthening India’s creative economy and reinforcing its role in the international media and entertainment domain.
